HYDRANGEA ARBORESCENS 'NCHA5' INVINCIBELLE WEE WHITE® PP30296

Pot Size
$45.49

Invincibelle Wee White® (Hydrangea arborescens 'NCHA5') is a horticultural breakthrough—the first-ever dwarf "Annabelle" type hydrangea. This North American native cultivar packs all the punch of a classic smooth hydrangea into a tidy, mounded habit that won't flop or overwhelm smaller landscapes. Its large, mophead flowers emerge with a soft blush-pink tint before maturing to a crisp, brilliant white, providing a continuous show of color from early summer until the first frost. Perfectly suited for low hedges, decorative containers, or as a reliable mass planting, this award-winning shrub is as tough as it is beautiful, thriving in chilly northern winters and humid southern summers alike.

Plant Care

Will this plant thrive in your climate?

Make sure you live within USDA Zones 3-8 by checking our Grow Zone Guide.

Planting

Select a location with 4-6 hours of sun; in hotter climates, morning sun with afternoon shade is ideal. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep. Ensure well-drained soil rich in organic matter.

Pruning

This variety blooms on new wood. Prune the entire plant back by about one-third of its height in late winter or early spring just as new growth begins to appear to encourage strong stems and maximum blooms.

Fertilizing

Apply a granular, slow-release fertilizer formulated for woody plants (like a rose fertilizer) in early spring. Avoid liquid fertilizers which can wash away too quickly.

Winter Preparation

Highly cold-hardy down to Zone 3. Apply a 2-3 inch layer of mulch (shredded bark or compost) around the base in late fall to insulate the shallow root system and retain moisture through the winter months.
