Return & Refund Policy

At Piedmont Carolina Tree & Shrub Farm Market, we take great pride in the health of our plants and the quality of our supplies. Because live trees and shrubs are perishable and sensitive to transit, our policy ensures a fair balance between customer satisfaction and the viability of our nursery stock.


1. Return Eligibility & Conditions

  • Live Plants & Trees: Due to the fragile nature of living nursery stock, all sales of plants, trees, and shrubs are final. We do not accept returns on live material once it has left our care or been delivered.

2. Quality Assurance & Store Credit

  • Resolution Options: If you experience a significant quality issue with a plant, we may offer a replacement or store credit. Our goal is to see your garden thrive!

  • Store Credit Amount: Credits are issued for the exact amount paid at the time of purchase. If an item was purchased on sale, the credit will reflect that discounted price.

  • Shipping Restrictions: If an order is placed for a restricted item (such as items regulated by the USDA or state departments of agriculture) that we cannot legally ship to your location, a full store credit will be issued. This credit never expires.

3. The Acclimatization Process

Please note that "shipping stress" is normal. Missing leaves, minor cosmetic blemishes, or slight height variations are standard parts of a plant’s transition to a new environment. These natural variations do not qualify as "damaged" and are not eligible for returns, replacements, or refunds.

4. How to Initiate a Return or Claim

To start a claim for a damaged item or return hard goods, please contact us at milton@piedmontcarolina.com.

  1. Provide your order number.

  2. Include clear photos of the product.

  3. Piedmont Carolina reserves the sole right to determine if a product is eligible for return or replacement.


5. Refunds & Cancellations

  • Refund Method: Refunds for damaged-in-transit plants are issued as Store Credit via an e-gift card. It is available immediately upon issuance and never expires.

  • Order Cancellations:

    • Within 2 Hours: Changes or cancellations are free of charge.

    • After 2 Hours: A 25% restocking fee applies, as our team has already begun selecting and prepping your living specimens.

    • In-Transit Cancellations: If an order is cancelled while on the truck, an interception/return-to-farm fee of up to $50 will be applied.

6. Shipping & Exchanges

  • Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges unless the incorrect item was shipped to you by our mistake.
