Plant in well-draining soil in a location receiving at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and equal in depth. Water thoroughly at installation and maintain consistent soil moisture during the first two growing seasons until the root system establishes.

Minimal pruning required thanks to its naturally narrow, columnar habit. If necessary, prune in late winter while dormant to remove damaged branches or maintain a single central leader.

Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring before new growth emerges. Avoid heavy nitrogen applications late in the growing season.

Highly cold hardy. Apply a 2-3 inch layer of organic mulch around the root zone in late fall to retain moisture and insulate roots against extreme freeze-thaw cycles. Ensure mulch does not touch the trunk.
